Building Communities from the Bottom Up
Sustainable Agriculture
Climate Smart Agriculture is not a single specific agricultural technology or practice but rather exploring a set of techniques to grow food and generate a reliable income while cultivating sustainable relationships with the land. It emphasizes climate resilient practices and encourages both proper waste management and positive economic returns.  Innovative Youth Uganda works with farmers to identify market opportunities, develop business plans to grow viable enterprises, and explore relevant techniques including irrigation, mulching, climate smart varieties, and alternatives to synthetic based fertilizers.

Business Development
Innovative Youth Uganda trains beneficiaries on how to turn their dreams into a reality. By providing targeted lessons on how to get a startup off the ground and how to manage a successful enterprise, we are bringing jobs into Uganda’s most remote communities and building economies from the bottom up. We are not just teaching local youth how to farm, but giving them the holistic tools needed to become a successful entrepreneur.

Psychosocial support
We realize that many of the beneficiaries we work with have fled violence and have not had the opportunity to process their trauma - often leading to substance abuse. At Innovative Youth Uganda, we want to focus on changing the mindset of our beneficiaries and provide them with the space to process their trauma, while instilling them with an improved sense of self-worth. By building confidence, we hope to change mindsets and give youth the support needed to believe in their own abilities to create a better future for themselves. This shall be done through advocacy, peer to peer learning and organizing social functions such as games, youth camps, and exchange visits to successful youth groups.
